Addition Triangle

This is my triangle decimal addition that we have being learning over the past two terms , we have to add all the decimals to make the top of the triangle . Our number this week is 17.843

Today is the first day of term 3 and we have started maths , This week we are learning decimals , Thinkboards and Decimal additions . The number we had today was 12.456 I did this all in less than 10 minutes .

Tamaki Talk

This morning six year nine's and Mrs Moore from Tamaki College came to talk to us about Tamaki College , They were telling us the experience of being in College . They were telling us what we do and there favourite subjects and other stuff , Most of the year nines favourite subjects were P.E , because most of them loved sports. The hardest things that they disliked was Science . My favourite part I liked was when our year eights asked them questions , and some of them were a bit tricky . 

Reflection Post

So far this term, I have learnt a lot which is good for me next year in college, I have being focused and learning a lot more

My first highlight was Sports , I really love sports especially rugby that is my favourite sport . I really liked training from 12:45 - 1:45 for 2 weeks , because we made it into the Auckland championships . But sadly we came 5 th ,  I really liked training because I learnt more about my position which is open side flanker . And I have gotten fitter and and loss weight.

My second highlight was my learning , I have learnt heaps of new things . Like how to creative new things and a lot more , My favourite subject at school is maths I really love maths because I am really good at it .

And my third highlight was Interval and  Lunch Time , I like playing a lot of things and I like playing around and doing new things everyday . The main thing I like to do during interval and lunch , is playing sports and eating because we get a break off our learning , and do what we want.

The two things I need to improve on is being focus and doing more work for next year in college , And my second thing I need to improve on is getting to school on time because I come to school late sometimes .

Before the year ends I would like to have high standards and a really good report for college so I can attend a good and welcoming college . I would like to be a very good person and would like to play heaps of sports , so I can try a lot of new things.

Think Board

Today my maths class is doing a think board , This week it's decimals I just finished it I used partitioning to work out the answer .My answer was 27.298 , we have being learning about think board's all term.

Graphic Organiser

This week we have being learning about graphic organiser , we are using , before,during and after . I read a book about "The boy on the bike" , He was training for a bike ride for charity he raised 7,000 for the St Johns charity . It was more the he expected . He travelled from Cape Reinga to Wellington .

Paraphrasing

This week we are learning how to make a cipher wheel and paraphrasing , what is paraphrasing
? paraphrasing is when you read something and re-writing it into our own words . Why is it helpful? it helps us comprehend what we are learning . I have learnt that we need to paraphrase so that I can understand about what I am reading .  I made my cipher wheel and my friend Liz deciphered it , it was really tricky .
