This week we are learning about bedmas and this is my think board I struggled with my word story because I couldn't find any but I hope you like.

Our Poem

This term we are learning about poems. And this is a poem that Sela, Mao , Jalen , Leila and I wrote. First we had to write a stanza about a photo Mr Wiseman showed us. After that we had to get into groups of five and put all our stanza's together and make a whole poem. This is our poem after in is finished.

Dusty Room

Tearing walls ripping down

The smell of mould goes round and round

The taste of black Liquorice  makes everything vicious

Windy sounds come rushing through in different areas of the room

From wall to wall the smell gets stronger

Inside and outside no smell of delight

Trapped all alone and nowhere to go     

But no need to stress it's just a big mess

Walking through the door

we notice the ripped walls

moulded roofs

with rats crawling through

 

and cockroaches

crawling round and round         

As I arrived in the room I looked down.

And I see Paint falling off the roof and I start to drown

I could smell a Musty smell on the wall.

Than I start feeling small.

When I looked around I can hear the Mouse's footsteps running on the roof.

But I wish it would be soundproof

As I drew the Curtains then I feel goosebumps coming up my arm

As I walk around the room I have this kind of dry taste in my mouth like I want to spew it out.

The room starts to rumble

 The ceiling began to crumble

Smelling mould

I start to get a cold

Everything’s broken

And it can’t be spoken

Disgusting floors

Covered in paint

Broken draws

I wanted to faint

Extra For Experts

This is my extra for experts this is for my maths group octagons. Everyone does this when they have finished everything.

Algebra

Last week we were learning about algebra and how it is used this is my presentation for what I had to do. My group did this I was to busy to post it last week now so I am now.

This is my think board I had to figure out what 196 +        = 853 I got the answer 657. We had to write ten similar questions , a story problem and what strategy we used.

High School Preparation Talk

This morning Andrew Patterson came to our school talk to the year 8 students and learn about what our life is going to be like in college. Mr Patterson gave the year eight's three worksheets to fill out about life and what we are going to do in the future.

Then he showed us a inspirational video about a year nine boy talking about his life and saying how he never gave up and always kept going. Even though he wasn't very bright he studied a lot and became very well known and he did a speech in front of a huge crowd.

My favourite quote of Mr Patterson's was "Before you walk into your new college pretend it's like a marathon , make your way through easily and don't go all hard first " .

After that he showed us the seven effective habits
1. Be Proactive
2. Think win-win
3. Sharpen the saw
4. Seek first to understand then to be understood
5. Synergize

7. Begin with the end in mind
